Come and be part of our small, supportive team of 25 staff based at Gisborne Hospital.

  • Inpatient team; see people admitted to wards and within other areas of the hospital including the emergency department, day of surgery unit, medical day unit.

  • Outpatient team; see people who can attend appointments onsite at the hospital.

  • Community team; see people in their homes, at school and work environments.

We have a wide variety of opportunities for different levels of skills or ongoing learning/development!

  • If you have an interest in any of the following areas; pelvic/women’s health, oncology and lymphoedema, hand therapy, paediatrics, concussion and cardio-respiratory we would like to support you and encourage you in this.

  • We can offer training and enable supervision/mentoring opportunities from current staff with expertise in these areas. This can be within or additional to your current interest/s. There are opportunities to expand into these areas.

  • Working in a rural environment can give you the opportunity to utilise all of your skills, and be challenged clinically.

Rotational roles involve rotating through the following;

  • Acute medical; respiratory, acute stroke, cardiac, mobility, interdisciplinary working.

  • Orthopaedics; acute trauma and electives.

  • Surgical; amputees, abdominal surgery, cancer.

  • ICU/HDU; expanding role with our ICU intensivist.

  • Rehab; geriatric, stroke, spinal cord injuries, amputees, post orthopaedic.

  • Outpatient; general MSK, ACC, post-surgical rehab, women’s health, respiratory clinic, hand therapy.

  • Community; strength and balance, falls, post orthopaedic, stroke, respiratory.
